Mayor John Dal Broi said council was very proud to be a part of this grants program enabling the community to continue providing excellent services.
“It's a great initiative by the council, and it’s good to see the community groups that receive the funding are appreciative and put it to good use,” Councillor Dal Broi said.
“For some of these groups, it’s their income for the year which means they can keep their organisation running.”
Communities committee chairwoman Councillor Anne Napoli said it was incredibly rewarding to see so many once again take advantage of the opportunity.
“It’s really good to see the community getting behind it and putting applications in. Through that we are able to help them with their projects,” Cr Napoli said.
“When the applications are sent, they need to meet certain criteria and then the committee, made up of councilors and community members, reviews the applications.”
