Four men have been arrested and charged with a number of crimes, including illegal hunting, after trespassing on properties near Hay on Sunday.

Griffith detectives were called to the property in Maude on October 21, and praised the community for their immediate response, saying the quick reporting is what resulted in their capture.
The four men were aged between 18 and 30 years of age were trespassing and hunting illegally on a number of properties in the area, police allege.
A property manger was assaulted at around 2.30pm when he confronted the group, seeing their vehicle and dogs.
A gun was produced by one of the men and the manager left.
Two other nearby property managers arrived and tried to take photos of the white Toyota Hilux Dual Cab with Victorian number plates.
The group began to chase the two managers, attempting to run them off the road for around 30 to 40 kilometres.
Police were then contacted via ‘000’.
Officers arrived shortly after, and they were stopped, placed under arrest and conveyed to the Hay Police Station where they were charged with the following crimes:
- The 18 year-old male from Glenroy, Victoria has been charged with: trespassing, possessing an unregistered firearm, and possessing a prohibited drug (cannabis).
- The 24 year old male from Jacana, Victoria has been charged with: trespassing, drive in a manner dangerous and assault.
- The 26 year old male from Coolaroo, Victoria and the 30 year old male from Airport West, Victoria have both been charged with trespassing.
The Rural Crime Prevention Team are providing assistance and further charges are expected to be laid in relation to this investigation.
The arresting police were officers from Hay, Balranald and Griffith Detectives.

All males have been conditionally bailed to appear at the Hay Local Court on the November 19.
