Pink Up events have continued to support the McGrath foundation, with crowds flocking to The Area Hotel’s Trivia Night and Women and Wheels at Owen Toyota.
Women and Wheels saw a good 30 women come to learn a bit more about mechanics and cars.
Rebecca Garner and Maydina Penrith were excited to support an event for Pink Up Griffith, while enjoying a good time with like-minded women.
“It’s great to be here for Pink Up Griffith, to have a girls night, and to learn more about cars,” Ms Garner said.
“It is such a great initiative, in a safe space where you can ask any questions, and there are not many opportunities like this where you can learn this way,” Mrs Penrith said.
Owen Toyota’s Mark Owen said it was great to support the McGrath Foundation and be a part of a town effort.
“It’s great to see an event like this making its way around the country, and the support Griffith throws behind the initiative is amazing, we are happy do do our part with this event,” Mr Owen said.
The Area Hotel held their Pink Up Griffith Trivia night on October 19, and the room was packed.
Promotions manager for The Area Hotel Freddie Moala said the trivia night exceeded all expectations.
“We have over 120 people come to the event and 22 tables sold it was such a great night, it was great to join Griffith in these events,” Mr Moala said.
While the pennies are still being counted for both events, all proceeds will go to the McGrath Nurse for the MIA, Fiona Shields.
