There will be a big name missing from the Griffith side with captain Haydn Pascoe missing for the season due to a knee injury, Diggers captain Theo Valeri will be taking the step up to lead the senior team out onto the field.
The Griffith side will be in for an interesting weekend when they take on Ardlethan/Barellan starting at 9am before finishing the day against West Wyalong with the first ball set to be bowled at 3pm. The game against West Wyalong could be a good test to see where the side stands as it is the grand final rematch from last year’s competition.
The winner of the group will take on the winner of Group B which features Leeton, Lake Cargelligo and Hay with the final to be played in November at Exies No 1. The competition is also used to make selections for the Murrumbidgee Rangers team to play in Wagga at the end of October.
