From wheelchair rugby to sitting volleyball, this amazing opportunity for some Year 12 students was all made possible through the generosity of the community.
Students Matthew Monalto and Robert Howard are both feeling the “nervous” excitement build.
“I am a little nervous, but I think it’s just mainly excitement,” Matthew said.
Having never flown on a plane before, the flight there will be a new experience to set the tone for the four nights in Sydney.
For Robert, while he has flown before, he is looking forward to spending time with his fellow students and making new friends as well.
Principal Angela Sampson estimated the trip would have cost in the ballpark of $15,000, but thanks to Griffith’s support the students have not had to fork out a cent.
“It’s just been incredible,” Mrs Sampson said.
“The kids get to see people overcoming disabilities to do amazing things, and it will show them that anything is possible. I’d like to sincerely thank everyone who made this trip possible.”

Not only watching the spectacular sportsmanship, but a number of other special schools will be going to watch, providing the chance to build friendships, something teacher Kylie Foord is looking forward to seeing.
“Going along with them, it will be great to see them soak up the sport, but also make those friendships as well,” Ms Foord said.
