The first and second rounds of the Dom's Motors Griffith Golf Club Championships were played in perfect conditions last Saturday and Sunday.
This year, two players who have dominated for the past 15 years, Matt Staines and Jason Magoci, are not playing.
Young gun Josh Stapleton fired two rounds of 76-76=152 to hold an eight shot lead over Andrew Romagnolo 80-80=160, going into Saturday and Sunday’s fired two rounds. Col Vearing is third on 82-82=164.

A single stroke on Saturday. Tony Catanzariti, 70 nett, won A Grade, a birdie on the 8th on a countback over Allan Adnreazza, 70 nett, also a birdie on the 8th.
Dom Guglielmino, 71 nett, won B Grade, birdie on the 11th, ahead of Brent Richmond, 72 nett.

The veterans played a single stableford last Thursday with an Irish 4 Ball in conjunction, won by Graeme Gifford, Noel Foley, Ken Alpen and Keith Woodbridge, 86 points. Mick Catanzariti 40, won 0-18 from Peter Henderson, 37. Ken Alpen, 38, won 19-24 over Graeme Gifford, 35, on a countback Keith Woodbridge.
