A large number of people came for this purpose, they were served well with Pakoras (an Indian diet), sweets and tea.
They asked many questions about the Sikh faith I told them about the Sikh history as follows;
"Sikh religion was founded by Guru Nanak (1469 -1539) he was the contemporary of Martin Luther who founded the Protestant sect of Christianity.
People sometimes ask me the difference between Hinduism and Sikhism? Hinduism is like Catholicism and Sikhism is like Protestantism.
India was ruled by Muslim rulers from 1194 till the coming of the British in 1757.
The Muslim rulers committed atrocities on the Sikhs. So the tenth Guru Gobind Singh formed armed Khalsa in 1699, that is why the baptised Sikhs wear a dagger (Gatra).
The armed Sikhs fought the Muslim rulers for a century. A large number of Sikhs – men women and kids were killed during this period by the Muslim rulers in India.
We remember these martyrs in our daily prayers “I also told them that the Sikh ruler Ranjit Singh (1783 – 1839) defeated the Afghans in 1837.
The visitors also went upstairs and watched our daily prayers.
They were also served with the vegetarian food later on In the end they were presented with the money collected for cancer in the Sikh Temple.
Some lights in the Sikh Temple were turned pink to mark the occasion.

MORE TRANSPARENCY NEEDED ABOUT SCHOOLS MERGER
The merger between Griffith High and Wade High is just four months away.
But there is a lot of uncertainty for teachers, parents and students.
The NSW Department of Education used to provide updates on the new merged school on its website.
But they have not provided a news update since December last year.
There is a (FAQ) Frequently Asked Question section on the new school website, but many of the so-called answers are Yes Minister-style vague and unhelpful.
The Department must update their FAQ and translate it into plain English; to provide answers to basic questions – such as how often and by what means students/teachers are to travel between the two sites.
I’m also concerned that, while $45 million was available – and needed – to address problems in our high schools, the combined school only gets $25 million.
The NSW Government ripped us off.
Our schools lack basic facilities.
For instance, proper heating and cooling need to be extended across all sections of both schools.
Buildings are old and need maintenance.
Yet a project to upgrade school buildings and property has stalled at the “planning” stage.
We know the NSW government ignores our concerns unless we pressure them to act.
So let’s start making some noise.
I urge concerned residents to let the Education Minister and local member know that this high school merger – which most of us didn’t want – requires more information, more planning and more funding.
