ARE you ready for summer?
The temperature has started to increase after a bitter winter, but have you done the one thing that will ensure you’ll be able to cope when the heat truly kicks in?
That’s right, now is the time to make sure your air-conditioner is fully functional and ready to keep the climate controlled inside your home.
With a combined experience of over 100 years in the industry, P&M Rossiter should be your first port of call when it comes to air-conditioner unit servicing or system installation.
P&M Rossiter are the experts in domestic and industrial air-conditioning, as well as being refrigeration specialists.
Owner Paul Rossiter said now is the time to make sure you’re ready to go for summer.
“You need to book in a service now to make sure you’re preparing for the summer months,” Paul said.
“Getting in early may even guarantee same-day service.”
There is a range of choices of what type of air-conditioning system can be installed.
“It does come down to personal choice,” Paul said.
“Reverse-cycle systems are the most effective in hot and humid conditions, while evaporative cooling is most effective in hot and dry conditions.”
Reverse-cycle refers to a single system that can provide both heating and cooling, while evaporative - which draws outside air over a wet pad to cool it before pumping it into a room - can only cool the air.
Fujitsu reverse-cycle air-conditioners offer a “full inverter” system meaning that it has a compressor that can vary its speed, which can be more effective in controlling the temperature and potentially reduce running costs.

P&M Rossiter has been operating since 1981 and currently has six tradesmen in its team, all with fully equipped vehicles and backed up by four administrative staff.
This equates to a wealth of knowledge and experience in air-conditioning, refrigeration and heating, for commercial and residential premises, in terms of installation and servicing.
Service and preventative maintenance packages can be designed to suit individual requirements.
The big trend for air-conditioning in 2018-19 is an obvious one, given the community focus on electricity prices - Fujitsu is all about unit effectiveness and energy/running cost efficiency.
Paul said most people looking to install a new air-conditioning system focus on price, trusted brands and the overall cost to run.
“Too many people end up not choosing the right size unit for the space they are trying to cool,” he said.
“While this could mean the system is cheaper, it won’t necessarily be better.”
A system that is too small will have to work too hard and too long to reduce the temperature and remove the humidity from the air, and will end up costing more in increased power bills.
An air-conditioning system of the correct size will bring the temperature down steadily over a period of time and do it more efficiently and economically.
P&M Rossiter will carry out a “calculated heatload estimate” to determine the correct system size, which takes into account factors such as room size, exposure to solar load (number of windows, exposure to western sun, etc), levels of insulation and the building materials used in construction.
