THE NSW qualifier at the Griffith Golf Club last weekend attracted a field of 25 players from clubs in NSW, Canberra and Victoria, vying for a spot in the NSW Open Championship.

Greg Allen from Woodlands Golf Club won the right to play, following rounds of 70-71-141, one under par; his closest rivals were Nic Coggan and Matias Sanchez both on 147. Sanchez failed to capitalise on his first round three under par 68.
Jake Davies had a hole-in-one on the 11th.

THE members played a single stableford on Saturday. Luke De Valentin, 41 points, won A Grade, carding birdies on the 1st, 2nd, and 5th.
Max Turner, 38 points, was second, draining birdies on the 9th and 15th on a countback over Sam Ranney.
Allan Andreazza, 40 points, won B Grade, birding the first ahead of John Gale, 38 points.
Roy Catanzariti, 42 points, was best in C Grade a four point par on the 6th. Allan King, 35 points, second.
Slim Cavanaugh and Sam Ranney won the Pro Pins.
Ranney also won the 4th pin, Col Leeson 7th, Dom Guglielmino 11th, Martin Sweeney 16th.
Vouchers to 33 points.

A TWO grade single stableford on Sunday.
Allan Andreazza, 36 points, won 0-18 , Anthony Rodgers, 35 points, second.
In the 9-36, Jarrod Gale, 37 points won, Skeet Milne, 36 points, runner-up.
Byron James won the 7th pin, Gerry Cox 16th. Vouchers went to 32 points.

A GOOD field of 40 players contested the Nine Hole Event, won by Allan Andreazza 20 points, with Jarrod Gale, 19 points, second on a countback over Adrian Smith and Roy Catanzariti.

THE Summer Caltex 5s will return again and a new format is being considered and will start Monday, October 8. So get your teams together.
There will be no major green renovations happening in the near future .
The Club Championships have been moved to October 6 and 7, and 13 and 14.

Members are advised that there will be an open single stableford on Thursday instead of today.
A single stableford on Saturday and the club will sponsor the 27 Holes Mixed Foursomes Championships on Sunday with a single 18 and nine holes stableford in conjunction.

THE veterans competition was rained out last week and vets are invited to play in the club’s single Pro comp on Thursday.
The veterans competition will resume on Thursday, September 20 with a single stableford, trialing new rules.
A two grade single stableford last Wednesday.
Matt Hallam, 39 points, won 0-18 ahead of Jason Magoci, 37 points.
Roy Catanzariti, 39 points, won 19-36 on a countback over Cam Woodside .
