Officers from the Murrumbidgee Police District carried out a search warrant on the Fawcett Drive property and discovered what they call a ‘sophisticated’ and ‘established’ hydroponic set up.
A 36-year-old man was arrested at the scene and charged with a number of offences, including cultivating by enhanced indoor means, supplying and possessing prohibited drugs and possession of prescribed restricted substance.
He was granted bail and is due to appear before Griffith Local Court on October 17.
HOUSE FIRE YAMBIL STREET
Police and fire crews were called to a blaze at a Yambil Street unit around midnight on Saturday.
The fire was controlled by 1.55am on Sunday morning, and no-one was injured despite the resident being home at the time.
Police forensic investigators examined the house, and are treating the blaze as suspicious until it can be proven otherwise.
The first floor of the two story unit building has been severely damaged by smoke and fire.
MEN CHARGED WITH WEEING IN PUBLIC
Griffith police bust busting men who were caught peeing on Banna Avenue.
Early Sunday morning police spoke with the two men after spotting them with their pants down on the main street.
They were both issued a ticket for offensive behaviour.
Inspector Nick Seddon warned people that urinating in public was an offence.
“We just wish to remind people that it is an offence and it is very antisocial behaviour, which will be dealt with accordingly by police.”
