FARM LOANS SLAMMED AS STUNT
A government plan to offer cheap loans to battling local farmers has backfired spectacularly amid claims it could cost up to $10,000 simply to apply. Local farming advocates have branded the package “bureaucracy gone mad”, saying the requirement to provide a five year business plan – and five years of tax returns – suffocated the application process in red tape.
HOONS HIT DANGEROUS HIGHS
Hoon drivers hitting dangerously high speeds across Griffith have been warned to slow down after a firey near-fatal smash at Narrandera recently. Griffith Highway Patrol officers have nabbed four drivers speeding at least 40km/h above the limit over the past two weeks – including a hoon tearing along Wakaden Street at 106km/h.
