ib vogt is proposing to develop a commercial scale solar farm located roughly one kilometre north west of Yanco and on the south-western outskirts of Leeton, within the Leeton Local Government Area.
The Yanco Solar Farm – as it would be called – would have a capacity of approximately 72 MW (DC), would occupy approximately 200 hectares of land and would connect to the Yanco Transgrid Electrical Substation (to the south east of the project site) via a new 33 KV transmission line.
The site would be accessed from the east via Research Road on the southern boundary of the site, which connects to Irrigation Way.
Company spokeswoman Jenny Walsh said preliminary environmental investigations had been completed and a draft site design is underway.
“As the proposal is a ‘state significant development’, environmental assessment requirements have been requested from the secretary of the NSW Department of Planning and Environment,” she said.
