Library Assistant Kate Crosato read three books about the tiny critters, showing children just how tough the tiny animal can be.
The first book, Boo! by Ben Newman, illustrated – as Ms Crosato puts it – “everybody has something to fear”, for even a large animal like an elephant can fear a mouse.
Who Sank the Boat? by Pamela Allen was next read out, which showed just how much impact a small being can make.
Finally, Ms Crosato read The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson and Azel Scheffler, which is about a clever mouse evading becoming dinner to a host of dangerous animals including a snake, owl, and fox.
Afterwards, the children were invited to create their own mouse using a rock and gluing on eyes, ears, a nose, and tail.
Storytime is held every Friday at 11am at the Griffith City Library.
Keep your eyes out for more events to come.
