The sides were fighting it out at Wade Park on Saturday afternoon when Kelly was caught high in a tackle which saw the game halted with Kelly needing medical assistance.
By the time the ambulance got to the ground and attended to Kelly, the officials made the decision to bring the game to a halt.
At the time they Blueheelers were leading the Roosters 30-6 with seven minutes still remaining in the first half.
Yenda got out to a 12-0 lead thanks to two tries in the first 10 minutes with Isaiah Potts and Floyd Faavesi crossing for the home side.
The Roosters hit back five minutes later as Jack Mead found his way across the line to bring the game back to a six-point margin.
Looking to make a mark before the break, Yenda scored another three tries as Willie Lolohea, Moses Lolohea and Chris Latu to see the Blueheelers heading to the break with a 30-6 lead before the incident involving Kelly.
The Roosters will now prepare to take on Waratah Tigers at Exies Oval next Saturday while the top of the table Blueheelers will remain at home to take on a charging Yanco Wamoon side on Sunday afternoon.
