Building on Murray’s political options, the NSW Nationals have announced their decision to reform the Hay branch of the party before the 2019 state election.
While the branch has always had members, it has been a few years since its last annual general meeting AGM, a requirement of party branches.
The recently announced July 26 meeting is serving as a chance to reinvigorate the branch.
Longtime Nationals member and Hay resident Phyllis Jones was looking to be involved in more of the dialogue.
"You need to have someone to talk to, to do things about any problems you might have," Mrs Jones said.
"The Nationals are always there to listen, they know who to talk to about our issues and Austin Evans is someone people really relate to, he's just a good bloke."

Member for Murray Austin Evans, who will also be in attendance, says local branches give people a chance to have their say at different levels of office.
It’s good to see they’re keen and enthusiastic. It’s good to see support in all corners of the Riverina. I was out in Wentworth speaking with people out there, and Leeton is looking at holding an AGM soon too,” he said.
“One of the reason I joined is that it’s a very democratic organisation. Any member of the party can come along with proposed policy or a motion. Through a branch you get to put things through to state conference.”
Following the meeting, dinner and drinks are on offer for members and non-members alike.
