With the new design featuring a deep bowl and street obstacles, riders of all types will be able to test their skills.
Also set to be unveiled are new grind-rails, boxes and three-quarter pipe ramps.
Matt Spencer is a local BMX coach and was involved with the community consultation. He says he couldn’t be happier with the new design.
“It’s good. I like it. It’s pretty much gone the same way as the last few sets of plans we saw. It’s good to see it come to life,” he said.
When he was giving his feedback, Mr Spencer said he wanted to get younger people into using the park.
“They’re both (BMX and skateboarding) going to be Olympic sport in 2020, it’ll be a great opportunity for the town,” he said.
“It’s not so much for myself to ride, but I wanted to be able to get kids to ride.”
The skatepark will also be wheelchair-friendly, designed for easy access to the facilities.
Mr Spencer said the new facilities offer “something for everyone”.
Griffith mayor John Dal Broi said plenty of fun is set to be had at the event’s opening too.
“It should be a great day and I hope we see lots of families come along to help us celebrate,” he said.

A jumping castle, face painting, coffee van, as well as events, workshops and competitions are just a smattering of what’s on offer over the weekend.
The opening will also feature professional skaters Yenda-born Chris Vaughn and Nixen Osborn.
The new development was a joint venture between Griffith City Council and NSW Department of Industry. Residents have eagerly awaited the final product since building began in April 2018.
The opening kicks off at 11.30am, Saturday, July 14 at Olympic Street, Griffith.
