For the first time in 693 days, the Hay Magpies have experienced a win after they took the two points with a 32-30 win over Darlington Point Coleambally on Sunday.
The Magpies were able to take the lead after Orisi Rokobati crossed seven minutes into the first half before the Roosters scored three in quick succession.
The tries to Jack Mead, Tye Blanchette and Jack Kelly saw the Roosters leading 18-6 before the Magpies crossed just before the halftime break.
The Magpies were able to score the first three tries of the second half as Zane Gash, Will Nadin and Harley Hey crossed to give their side a chance of experiencing their first win in almost two seasons as they held a 28-18 lead with 15 minutes to go.
Blanchette crossed for his second of the day before Patrick Miller got the Magpies back out to an eight-point lead.
Josh Veivers was able to get across the line for the Roosters, but it was too little too late as the Magpies came away with the two-point win.
