GRIFFITH Local Health Advisory Committee (LHAC) is thrilled at the recent announcement by NSW Deputy Premier and leader of the NSW Nationals John Barilaro to fully fund the complete redevelopment of Griffith Base Hospital.
A lot of people have worked hard for many years to keep this redevelopment on the agenda and we are so pleased with the announcement last week which will allow the plans to progress.
All the members of the LHAC are really excited for Griffith and the surrounding areas that this redevelopment will go ahead.”
As representatives of the community, the members of the Griffith LHAC have advocated for expanded services and sought opinions form the wider community on the types of health services needed for the future of Griffith.
Members of the LHAC have been involved in planning meetings, business breakfasts and attended the open public meetings to get a first-hand view on how local people feel about health services.
Our LHAC members represent different areas of interest and meet with different groups to enable them to reflect local people’s view on health services.
All the members of the LHAC regularly meet with lots of different groups of consumers and have been able to listen to their views on services required to ensure they are represented as well.
We have all been involved in the planning meetings to provide input into the planning process and we are really happy with the way it is progressing, and the changes that are being made along the way to incorporate our feedback.

We encourages members of the public to get involved and have a look at the master plan to see what’s in store with the new hospital. This exciting new chapter in our health history is really happening – and now is the time to get involved!”
MLHD is keeping the process open for another month until the end of July to allow the community more time to provide feedback.
