The Voice star Ben Sekali has made his way back home to Griffith after spending almost a year on the reality TV program.

Although he said he’s keeping it on the low, he wanted to come by and visit The Area News’ office and thank the people of Griffith for their support during his time on The Voice.
Mr Sekali said his journey has been “so awesome and eye-opening”, but said the greatest part of the experience was all the fun he had.
He said he could have walked onto the show with a negative attitude, but instead he walked in and said, “I’m going to take everything positive from it.”

“People tell me, ‘I’m sorry you didn’t make it,’ and I tell them, ‘What are you sorry for? I’m happy,’” Mr Sekali said.
“Not everyone has the opportunity I had – I’m very grateful that I even made it to semi-finals.”
Mr Sekali said he left the show when he was supposed to, did what he needed to, and is now happy to “breathe and relax in Griffith”.
“It’s a massive thing and I’m just grateful this experience has happened, and I’m just so happy Griffith was behind me.”
He said he didn’t have the chance before, but he would now like to use the opportunity to thank Griffith.
“Griffith grounded me and taught me how to be humble,” he said.
“I know everyone in Griffith was behind me.”
In terms of the future, Mr Sekali said he’s been offered many opportunities.
He also has a tour coming up at the end of the year, and would like to do a performance in Griffith.
Mr Sekali would like to give “the biggest thank you” to Griffith.
