Kyle Trent Cameron Meadway entered the Grevilia Street home in March 2017.
Court documents read Mr Meadway opened the security door, holding it open using a garbage bin. He then jimmied the main front door with an unknown object before making his way into the home.
Other court stories:
Police say once he was in the unit, he flicked the loungeroom light on before taking items.
The defendant then stowed away with a Niveo TV, DVD player, frozen meat, a blue 15 litre bottle, bathroom mirror, John Wayne ceramic plates and the victim’s bathroom mirror.
His case appeared before Griffith Local Court last week where he was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment with a non-parole period of four months.
Due to backdating of the sentence, Mr Meadway will be eligible for parole in August 2018.
