Yet, for three grand Socceroos matches Griffith will get a unique opportunity of viewing the games on a big screen, right at home.
Patrons will also be supporting the Children’s Ward at the Griffith Base Hospital with every ticket purchase – at only $2 each going towards buying two paediatric beds and an ECG machine.
The Area News spoke with Sam Trimboli, an advocate for the Socceroos and Give Me 5 for Kids (GM5FKs).
“Everyone knows how much I love the game, and I spoke with Dom Giorgi (General Manager Griffith City Cinemas) and we decided it would be a great way to give back to a great foundation, and to experience the great atmosphere of the cinema,” Mr Trimboli said.

So far, Mr Trimboli and Mr Giorgi have sold approximately 100 tickets for the event.
“The cinema holds roughly 230 and tickets are flying out the door,” Mr Trimboli said.
Mr Trimboli hopes the Griffith community will come support the cause.
“It’s a great opportunity for people to come down, get a great atmosphere, watch the Socceroos first game and get some good money towards the Give Me 5 for Kids.”
Mr Trimboli will be supporting Socceroos players Aaron Mooy and young talent Daniel Arzani.
When asked if he thought a Griffithite could one day become a Socceroo, Mr Trimboli said:
“We have some really talented kids – you never know.”
This is the chance to get behind and proudly support the underdogs of the soccer world, and to make a difference in the lives of children at the Griffith Base Hospital Children’s Ward.
The lads in green and gold will be taking on France on June 16 at 8pm; Denmark on June 21 at 10pm; and Peru on June 27 at 12am.
Tickets are on sale from Griffith City Cinemas and La Piccola Grosseria for $2 each.
