Inspector Nick Seddon said the police enjoyed the community celebrations across the MIA, with the Sikh Games in Griffith and Coleambally’s 50th anniversary.
“Everyone was very well behaved and we had no major problems,” he said.
“Police enjoyed being part of the event as part of the community, and it was great to see everyone’s reaction to the mounted police from Sydeny – they were very well received!”
Souvla Bay and King traveled down to Griffith this weekend to patrol the town whilst the Sikh games were being held, and they went to Coleambally.
And his praise continued on to road users as well.
In Griffith, only two people were caught drink driving despite the 1803 Random Breath Tests conducted by general duty officers and the 1391 conducted by Traffic and Highway Patrol officers.
