The Griffith Sikh Games has become renowned all over the country and abroad with visitors travelling from as far as Broome and New Zealand.
Not to be outdone, Mother Nature came to the party on Sunday after a not-so-warm welcome for the spectators, athletes, and organisers on Saturday.
Ted Scobie oval was descended on by thousands and they were not disappointed.
“There are so many new communities involved this year,” Griffith Sikh Community General Secretary Manjit Singh Lally said.
“We have teams that have travelled from New Zealand, and spectators have travelled from all over Australia.”
“On Saturday, I was talking to a family that travelled all the way from Darwin.”

The oval turned into a festival of culture and the masses took the opportunity to indulge in all the mouth-watering free Indian cuisine.
The food was prepared by volunteers and was donated by the generous Griffith community and visitors.
Organising such a mammoth event comes with many hurdles and at the top of the list was traffic.
This year, the committee undertook a traffic plan placing a 40km speed limit for a two kilometre radius around Ted Scobie Oval.
Bus services were also supplied from the Sikh temple and picked up attendees from Griffith’s Visitors Centre
They love the Griffith community, they love the hospitality, they love the sports and they love the people.
