“The books are Italian-themed, which is all part of our Italian Week, and it’s a chance for a lot of the local kids to either express their heritage or join in on the celebrations,” Ms Molloy said.
The Area News Storytime correspondent had a chat with some of the participants to learn more about why they enjoy reading.
Riley Keenan said he most enjoyed The Little Red Hen (Makes a Pizza) because he likes pizza.
But, when asked what she liked about Storytime, Kenzie Tyrrell showed our correspondent a picture of a train in her book.
Afterwards, children got to craft their very own Venetian masks using paper plates, feathers, glitter, ribbon, and pom poms.
Kenzie Tyrrell’s mother, Samantha, remarked that she appreciated the craft sessions during Storytime because it meant less of a mess at her own home.
Griffith City Library holds a Storytime each Friday at 11am.
