The sold-out event at Exies Bagtown saw everyone dressed up to the nines, entertained by MC comedian Joel Ozborn who had everyone relaxing and laughing along with his antics, and serenaded by Griffith music duo Dee Farnell and Rhys Callinan.
This year’s categories had two local awards, which were nominated and voted by members of the public and judged by an independent confidential local panel.
These awards were The Area News’ ‘Local Customer Service Award’ which saw The Athlete’s Foot come out a step above the other 14 top-notch nominees, and Griffith City Council’s ‘Local business Person of the Year,’ which saw Roy Spagnolo of Roy Spagnolo and Associates recognised for his outstanding entrepreneurial spirit.

President of Griffith Business Chamber Paul Pierotti said there were a lot of brave and passionate realists in the room, and were working together to create positive change.
“A special thanks to Amanda Quarisa the awards co-ordinator and Chamber secretary, as well as to all of our sponsors, and congratulations to all of the finalists,” Mr Pierotti said.
The judging of the other eight awards were conducted by experts in their field and were not Chamber committee members or sponsors.
Most judges were located outside of Griffith and scored the entries based on submissions only.
