The 8/9’s division featured Keep It North as the Team of the Week, and they celebrated with their third win in a row. The girls are playing some excellent netball and next week’s game against the also undefeated Benny Mahon Constructions should be a ripper.
Griffith Public School All Stars posted another win in the 10/11 years division, along with Ladybirds, R & B Diggers and Area Refrigeration Bluebirds. Although it is still early days, the top six teams in this division are very close, making for some very interesting contests.
Beko, Xquisite Diamonds and Gunn Accounting recorded good wins in the 12/13 years while The Athletes Foot D Grade provided some of the closest results of the day. JBS Thunderbirds defeated AES Rockets by just one goal. This game was very close from start to finish, as was the Bardney Metal Fabrications versus Caesars clash, which saw Bardney win by two goals. Vaccari’s Bakery were the other winners in D Grade.
MIA Coaches C Grade saw The Force dominate All Sorts who did well to go the distance with just five players. Goal Diggers and Suncorp also struggled with numbers, with Suncorp’s eight goal last quarter getting them over the line after the teams were level at three quarter time. Rep 12s defeated Here If You Need in a high scoring game while Rep 13 got the win over Pinnacle.
Ill Corso B Grade was exciting, with two out of the three games featuring one goal wins. Deadlies five goal lead in the first quarter saw them hold off the fast finishing Calabria Family Wines by one goal, while Dreamers got a one goal win over SPS/Doms/Bowmans. PFD Swift continued their good form, defeating MIA Quik Skips.
Coro Club A Grade action rounded out the day. DeBortoli’s went down to Pinnacle by just two goals. DeBotoli’s are making a real impact in the A Grade competition and are certainly one to watch. Tonann were again impressive, winning despite only having five players available whilst the young Griffith Motor Group side also showed that they belong in A Grade, accounting for Fresh Health and Fitness / Masters of Hair by nine goals. There will be a General Meeting on Monday May 28 at 7pm at the Griffith Leagues Club. One representative per team must attend, or a loss of competition points will be incurred.
