After last week where felt his side were beaten easily it was about getting back to basics and building according to Bertacco.
“It was just about getting a bit of confidence back after last weekend,” he said.
“The first half was really good. Simple football one-two touch, pass and move. They were all playing as a unit which is really good to see.
The second half just got that little bit sloppy.
“The positive is we kept a clean sheet which we haven't do since round one so we will take that, and it is all about moving forward.”
Hanwood started like a house on fire and scored two goals in the opening 10 minutes.
Daniel Draskovic opened the scoring for the Hanwood side after he was able to rise above the defence and head the ball into the back of the net.
He didn’t wait long to double his tally for the day as, after a cross from Jacob Zanatta, Draskovic was again able to use his size and strength to get above the Yoogali defence.
It was a third first-half goal after the Hanwood attackers were able to pounce on a mistake from the Yoogali keeper. Brad Clark wasted no time extending the lead after he converted from the penalty spot after the Yoogali defenders were judged to have used their hands to prevent a shot from Michael Cimador getting over the goal line.
Zanatta then turned to scorer as he was able to score two of his own before halftime to see Hanwood walking away with a 6-0 lead at the break.
Yoogali FC Two set the goal of getting through the second half without conceding any more goals and looked to be on track to do so before Clark score his second after pouncing on a rebound from the Yoogali keeper to place the ball into the back of the net.
Bertacco praised the younger boys who stepped up in the absence of key members of their side.
“We had a lot out today, so a lot of different people got a go from young to old so it was pretty positive in that regard,” he said.
“I think Michael Cimador I think he really stood up today and Tyler Andreazza at right back the young bloke was really good.”
Hanwood will know look to continue their momentum moving forward into their meeting with their interclub rivals Hanwood Two next weekend at Hanwood Oval.
Yoogali FC Two will face a tough task as they also take on their interclub rivals in Yoogali FC One in the 1pm game out at Hanwood Oval.
