Orton concedes Riverina League’s reuptation will be on the line when they take on Farrer in their first representative clash since 2010.

But instead of the pressure being on Riverina as they look to restore it’s representative pride, Orton insists the heat is on Farrer League.

“I don’t think there is any pressure on us at all,” Orton said.

“If anything, the pressure is on them. They’re the ones saying they’re the better league anyway.

“We’re going into the game knowing we’re a quality league, and they’re obviously going in saying the same thing.

“It’s going to come down to the better team on the day.”

With the interleague rivalry reignited and Riverina looking for their first representative win since 2015, Orton expects his team to play with plenty of passion.

“That’s something I’ll be addressing before the game, but definitely,” he said.

“I want us to play with a bit of pride in the jumper.

“We don’t want to let the league down so we’ll be going for it.”

Riverina League has named a strong squad with a host of quality players across the park.

Orton did not attempt to hide the fact Riverina plan to outrun their Farrer opponents on Robertson Oval.

“That’s how I’ve been running our trainings,” he said.

“There are still good ball users in the Farrer League, who are fit and quick, don’t get me wrong but that’s how we’ll be looking to break the game open, with that run.”

Riverina League have made the one change since Wednesday night’s training with Leeton-Whitton’s Matt Rainbird coming into the team for Turvey Park coach Truman Carroll, who is battling a groin injury.

Orton is happy with the Riverina team that will run out.

“Right from the start, even if we got our best 22 on the paddock, I wouldn’t say there is a strength in one area,” he said.

“When you look at it now, you would look at the midfield and say it’s pretty decent but there is strong ball users all over the park.”
