The return to EW Moore Oval resulted in a 7-0 defeat as the Rhinos were without key players in Luke Santolin, Darren Bailey, Jacob Donadel and Andrew Vitucci.
“It was a combination of things,” coach Gabriel Abdala said.
“Not having the players that we were missing from the suspensions and injuries really killed us. In saying that we played some good football in patches. They (Tigers FC) were just clinical, and that’s all it came down to.”
The visitors scored two in the opening 20 minutes and maintained the 2-0 lead until halftime. The second half was where the Tigers came alive as three goals in five minutes saw them race out to a 6-0 lead early in the second half before a second penalty was awarded after a Tigers player went down after minimal contact. The penalty was converted, and the visiting side wrapped up their 7-0 win.
