Event organiser Deanna Marriott encourages residents to come along and enjoy a biscuit for a good cause.
“Each year it’s just gotten bigger and better. We usually get a few hundred people at the venue,” she said.
“People lead very busy lives these days and they don’t often get together. It’s a good chance to come together, have a chat and a cup of tea. It’s only $10 for the whole day.”
Last year the group managed to raise around $10,500 for cancer research, support and prevention.

“I think everyone knows someone that’s had cancer. Many years ago, people didn’t survive very long. These days, people can live a lot longer and people are going into remission more often,” she said.
