Yoogali SC has already risen above the pack after three games this season and Hanwood coach Jason Bertacco knows his side will need to be switched on.
“It is pretty evident they are going to be the benchmark this season,” he said.
It is pretty evident they are going to be the benchmark this season
- Hanwood Blues' coach Jason Bertacco
“They have scored 30 goals already this season, and they are yet to concede a goal.
“It will be a good gauge to see where we stand.”
Hanwood is coming into this round having had a week off due to a forfeit in the State Cup while Yoogali SC fell 2-0 to Sydney side Marayong last weekend.
While Bertacco knows it was good to ensure, his side was fully fit this weekend they did miss a chance to work on structures in a match environment.
“We will have a full-strength squad for this weekend but the way we have been going it would have been better to play the 90 minutes,” he said.
“The Yoogali boys have had that extra 90 minutes, and we missed the chance to build the combinations.”
With Yoogali showing their potency in the final third, Bertacco knows they need to limit their chances.
“Mitch (Bagiante) has score more goal then our whole team,” he said.
“They are defending champions for a reason. We need to make sure we don’t let any easy ball out. If we let them control the game, they will run away with it.”
Bagiante has score 16 goals in the first three games of the season and holds an 11 goal advantage in the golden boot race over fellow Yoogali SC player Isaac Donadel.
The game will get underway at EW Moore Oval at 3pm on Sunday.
