SC set the game up early, establishing a solid lead in the first half. A good defensive display kept the home side goalless.
SC’s Mitch Bagiante dominated the field, bagging 10 goals of his own boot. Coach Luke Santolin had plenty to be happy about.
“The scoreboard probably makes it seem like he played individually but a lot of it was getting on the end of a good team move,” he said.
“There’s no doubt he’s hungry to score goals, but he’s also a great team player.”
He’s also happy with the way his side went about maintaining their lead.
“The temptation is to just try and attack and score as many goals as we can, but I’m glad we kept passing for as long as we could.”
He also praised Joey Schmizzi, who played his first game for the club on Sunday afternoon.
