A highly defensive game kept Hanwood goalless throughout the game, with the home side sharing the ball around the offense.
Coach Rocky Marando said he was impressed with the boys both on and off the field this season.
“It’s always good to get a win over the local rivals in Hanwood and to get a win that way was good. I was very happy with the performance,” he said.
“The most important part for me was the nil. We didn’t want to concede any goals. It’s the most pleasing aspect,” he said.

He described the game as an “all-round defensive effort” by the entire team.
While the coach was pleased with the team’s effort, he said Yoogali FC Centre-forward and team captain Michael Perry was a standout, boasting two goals to his name by the end of the game. Next week will see the side take on Hanwood FC one at Hanwood Oval.
