This week, during Griffith City Library’s ‘storytime’ session, children and parents were treated to a very special presentation in recognising Anzac Day.

Library Assistant, Kate Crosato read the story, Anzac Ted, by Belinda Landsberry to her eager audience.
“Anzac Ted is about a teddy bear who is looking a bit torn and tattered, but he has a pretty special history,” Ms Crosato said.
Griffith City Library recognises Anzac Day with a story each year. This year, the library assistants set the children the task of making poppies to be glued onto a wreath.
“We’ll take them to the 11am service on Anzac Day,” Ms Corsato said.

Anzac Ted was a very popular tale among the children.
Xavier Sarkis was quick to share his opinion on the event. When asked what he thought of the story, Xavier said, “It was good.”
But he seemed to enjoy the arts section better, commenting it was his “favourite”.
People and Programs Team Leader, Abby Molloy, noted that the storytime events are a great opportunity for pre-literacy children to learn.
Griffith City Library holds a storytime each week at 11am. Each story reflects a particular recent event or holiday. They will soon be celebrating Mother’s Day with a storytime event.
