THE Griffith Vintage Festival has again sold out well in advance of the Easter weekend.
Being held in its current format for the second time, for the second year running the festival has proved a massive drawcard in the city.
The Riverina Winemakers event is a marquee draw for the city, held as part of unWINEd Riverina at the old Miranda Winery site in Jondaryan Avenue on Saturday.
Event organiser Carrah Lymer said ticket sales had taken the group somewhat by surprise and showed how supportive the region was of its food and wine tourism.
“This year we were able to increase our capacity and sell out again,” Mrs Lymer said.
“When people have family coming to stay over Easter, it shows off what we have here.
“A lot of us grew up with it under a different name and everyone had a good time then. It went away and people really missed it.
“I think we were surprised last year how quickly it sold out; a lot of people who missed out got in early this year. It was sold out a month ahead of the event.”
