While the innings didn’t make the best start with Amandeep Singh (0) run out with out facing a ball by Oliver Bartter, Sam Irvin and Hayden Forner tried to steer their side out of a dangerous position.
Although Irvin (7) fell with the score on 19, James Roche joined Forner at the crease and the pair were able to accelerate run rate getting their side to 2/93 before both batsmen were forced into retirement after passing 40.
The retirement of the pair slowed the scoring rate as Exies lost six wickets of 11 runs to see Forner come back to join Mason Ashcroft.
It would be another 49 runs before Hanwood were able to pick up another wicket as Hayden Forner (71) was run out by Bartter and Ashcroft (17) was bowled by Luke Demamiel (1/18) as Exies finished on 165 after 25 overs.
Sam Irvin (3/7) was able to make the needed impact with the ball as he picked up the wickets of Oliver Bartter (6), Jack Cannon (1) and Tom Bartter (0) to see Hanwood fall to 3/10.
Harry Rowston and Aiden Serafin tried to get their side back on track but after an 11-run stand, Rowston (8) fell to the bowling of Roche (1/8).
While Serafin (17) was able to keep the score ticking over as only Daniel Whitworth (3) was able to add to the scoreboard as the last four wickets fell without troubling the scorers.
The tight bowling display saw Exies come away with a 116-run victory.
