Sam Tupou, aged 28, fronted Griffith Local Court last week where he pleaded guilty to resisting an officer and one count of property damage.
After being turned away from the Area Hotel, Mr Tupou walked up Banna Avenue toward Kooyoo Street.
Police say he then punched the front window of the Central Butchery, causing the glass to shatter.
Officers arrived at the scene shortly after and were provided with a description of the accused.
On the same night, Police were driving in Griffith where they say they observed someone matching the defendant’s description with a “large amount” of blood on his pants.
They observed the defendant entering a residence and followed him inside, observing blood on the floor of the kitchen.
When police asked about the allegations, he responded “I don’t know”, so police introduced themselves again and placed him under arrest.
As they approached the front door, Mr Tupou became aggressive, challenging officers to a fight.
After he began to count down, police handcuffed him as they believed he may try to assault them. They say he began thrashing his arms about, requiring six police officers to control him.
On the way to the car, he attempted to headbutt an officer, continuing to try and kick police.
He was taken to Griffith Police Station, where the ambulance attended and assessed his injuries.
The defendant was then placed in time out due to the levels of his intoxication.
Mr Tupou has been ordered to pay $1616.8 in compensation to the business.
