Organiser Brad Lawrence said despite being a little tired, he was excited to hit the road.
“We’ve had a few late nights, way past my bed time anyway getting ready for everything.”
This year the team are aiming to raise $10,000, with the money going to MS Australia, and Batyr, a youth mental health charity.
So far, fundraising efforts have seen over $1800 raised, and Mr Lawrence hopes to raise more along the way.
“Last night we are really grateful and fortunate enough to raise $400 at the Yenda Diggers Club, so we are hoping we can raise a bit more in each town that we go to, and give people to donate on our Facebook page and our GoFundMe page.”
Part of the inspiration to support MS Australia came when Mr Lawrence heard news his best mate’s wife, Bonnie Buckman, was being investigated for Multiple sclerosis (MS), a disease of the central nervous system.
Mrs Buckman is taking the trip for the first time, and was a little nervous before the big ride but was glad to be supported with her husband and son.
“We are ready to get going before the heat kicks in,” Mrs Buckman said.
“I’ve got my son and my husband along with us, they did the ride last year, so they’ve inspired me to get my butt moving.”
The Wines2mines will take a slightly longer route through Hillston and Lake Cargelligo, and will be going a tad slower than last year’s ride to accommodate the beginners in the tour.
