After winning the toss and electing to bat, Exies tried to make the best start possible with Billy Evans and Hayden Forner at the crease.
While Coro was able to make an early breakthrough with Jacob Witherspoon (1/11) as he picked up Evans (1) but that was the last taste of success for the Cougars.
Forner and Amandeep Singh worked hard after the early wicket to put their side in a strong position with both batsmen scoring at near a run-a-ball.
Even when Forner (42 ret.) was forced into retirement, it did little to slow Exies scoring as James Roche joined Singh at the crease and continued the run scoring.
Coro was finally able to make a breakthrough as Roche (35) was caught by Rhys Carnell off the bowling of Lewis Murphy (1/22) and even when Singh (41 ret.) passed the retirement mark Exies still had runs to add.
Sam (8) and Lucas Irvin (9) score a nearly a run-a-ball late in the innings to see Exies finish at an imposing 2/147 off their 25 overs.
The Cougars needed to make a strong start if they wanted to chase down the total but the early loss of Mark Bennett (5) who was bowled by Jacob Testoni (1/11) put Coro under early pressure.
Jack Rand and Witherspoon were able to get through the tough opening and put on a formidable partnership to give their side a fighting chance.
The pair were able to lift their side to 74 before Witherspoon (42 ret.) hit back-to-back boundaries to retire.
Ben Signor and Rand continued to push for runs before Exies made a breakthrough with Mason Ashcroft (1/22) picking up Rand (23).
The Cougars looked to be in a strong position with Signor (26) and Murphy (8) at the crease only needing another 31 runs off 21 balls before trouble struck with the pair being dismissed.
The game was tight as it headed into the final over with Coro requiring 11 runs off the final six deliveries but came up three runs short with Joseph Bellicanta (17*) unable to score off the final delivery.
Exies will play Hanwood in the decider at Exies Oval on Wednesday March 21.
