The League Tag defending champions came out strong against Marian as Lily Belle Misiloi, Serenity Amiatu and Hollie Penrith score first-half tries to see Griffith go into the break up 14-0
Penrith was able to score her second early in the second half while Bianca Sutton crossed late in the game for Griffith to come away with a 24-0 win.
The Bonetti Shield turned out to be a tight affair with it coming down to the wire to determine the winner.
Marian was able to open the scoring through Nate McGregor early in the first half before Griffith scored two tries through Michael Asomua and Lachlan Wallace to see them go into the halftime break with a four-point advantage.
In the back and forth game, it was Marian who was able to retake the lead with Talilotu Uoifalelahi using his strength to push across the line before Griffith took the lead back with Ty Powell and Asomua crossing.
With five minutes left on the clock Talilotu scored his second of the game, and with the successful conversion from Isaac Testoni, the scores were level.
It remained at 16-16 at the full-time siren meaning the try from Marian’s Nate McGregor made all the difference as the game was decided on the first try.
The Fifita Cup game saw Griffith walk away convincing winners and show why they have been the team to beat in recent years.
A dominant first-half performance saw them score eight unanswered tries with Charlie Tiaina scoring a double while Isiah Buerckner, Sione Kupu, Christian Unasa, Moses Lolohea, George Fidow and Ofa Lalagavesi all crossing before halftime to give their side a 38-0 lead at the break.
Marian struck first after halftime but it proved of little consequence as Moses completed his double while Ziggy Vincent scored two of his own to see Griffith High walk away with a 60-4 victory.
