The crowd gathered at Jubilee Oval to get ready and set to run, walk, ride and push prams the 9km stretch to Lake Wyangan, all to raise money for the Griffith Base Hospital.
Oriana Foschi has run in every event so far, and once again placed, this time as the first woman runner to cross the line.
“Great organisers, a great cause, a beautiful day – what more could we have asked for?” said Ms Foschi.
After participating and placing every year, she’s once again thrilled not only to place, but to take part in an event supporting and supported by the “amazing” Griffith community.
“The atmosphere is always here, the community always puts an enormous amount of support behind, they all give it 110 per cent. Everyone’s smiling, and whether you are a bike rider, walker or runner, it’s an achievement to start and finish.”
Craig Tilston was the first man over the line on his bike, and said he was also proud to be part of an event holding a great deal of community spirit.
“All the people who put in an extraordinary amount of time and effort to get the event going – its great for the city, it’s great for Griffith, and why not finish at the beautiful lake?”
Organiser Anne Napoli said the support shown from the community was “phenomenal”, and while the numbers didn’t overtake the last run’s whopping turn-out, the atmosphere and community spirit was more than enough to warrant the events success.
“When you look around and you see the crowd here, everyone is having a fantastic time, but above all they are here because they want to support our Griffith Base Hospital,” Mrs Napoli said.
Mrs Napoli said the atmosphere was phenomenal, and was pleased to see families come along to the family-friendly event.

The money raised will go to purchasing equipment for the base hospital, and Mrs Napoli said it was fantastic to see teams from St Vincent’s Hospital coming along to support it as well.
“It’s great to see the two hospitals supporting each other to benefit the community,” Mrs Napoli said.
“A huge thank you to all the committee members, volunteers, businesses and everyone who made this event a success.”
