Cod Rock, trained by Kerry Weir, has taken out the main race at the Carrathool Cup on Saturday afternoon.
In quite convincing fashion Cod Rock took out the race in a time of 1:23.81 with second place Hangin’ With Willy trained by last year’s winner Trevor Sutherland, finishing eight lengths further back.
It was a case of fourth times the charm for winning jockey Jason Baldock who had finished the previous three races in fourth place.
Sutherland had a consistent day with his horse picking up placings in the all of the six-event as he finished the day with three thirds and four seconds.
Griffith based trainer Gino D’Altorio took one of his horse to Carrathool but unfortunately, his horse Sexy Missile finished last in race three 22.7 lengths behind winner Lord Mij.
Griffith’s Russell Hogan also took one of his horse to the races to take part in the main race with War Horse finishing fourth in the race for the Carrathool Cup 13.3 lengths behind winner Cod Rock.
