This week's winner of the long course was Mia Stockwell. Well done on her fine achievement as it her first victory in the long version of the competition.
Once again, the fact that the younger runners of the Griffith Feral Joggers are stepping up to the longer distances is most encouraging.
Second place went to Tom Mackerras who finished less than two minutes behind her. Mia was also the fastest female runner in the long course whilst Roy Binks took out the honour for the males.
In the short version of the competition, a fast-finishing Callum Vecchio returned to form by holding off James Stockwell to claim victory. James was then followed by four members of the Kenny family.
Despite Adam Johnson's absence from this week's run, he still leads the competition (albeit by a reduced 5 points). Jai Kenny continues to lead the short version of the competition.
Next week the distance for the long course of the competition will be increased to 10.2km.
In other matters, entries are now open for the 2018 Flexible Solutions Bacchus on the Lake which will be held on Friday 30 March 2018. The event has a race for every type of runner/walker and is a great way to spend Good Friday. Registration can be done online at www.griffithbacchus.org.au.
The Griffith Feral Joggers meet every Saturday at 5.30pm opposite Griffith Pioneer Park Museum. New members are most welcome.
