After winning the toss and electing to bat, Hanwood was able to make a start through Michael Crosato and Brad Hornery.
The pair put on 19 for the first wicket before Brett Hazelman was able to trap Crosato (13) in front.
Hornery took the leading role in a 17-run stand with Issac Campbell, however, when Campbell (5) fell to the bowling of Hazelman (2/22) it triggered three quick wickets.
Leagues captain Paul Plummer (1/14) picked up Charlie Cunial (0) while Ryan Greenaway picked up Jamie Whitworth (0) to see Hanwood fall to 4/44.
When Hornery (27) was caught behind off the bowling of Chahal, Hanwood were in further trouble as five wickets fell for 15 runs.
Greenaway (2/11), Chahal (3/22) and Liam Warren (1/12) did the damage to see Hanwood sitting at 9/69.
Sam Foley (8) and Trevor Cowie (10*) gave Hanwood some much-needed run to see them bowled out for 87 with Babar Safdar (1/1) picking up the final wicket.
Leagues looked to chase down the total which would secure them a finals berth with Ben Leach and Logan Matheson looking to go the job themselves.
The pair were able to get their side to 68 in 15 overs before Ryan McWhirter (1/9) was able to dismiss Matheson (41).
Andrew Madden and Leach looked to have their side cruising to a nine-wicket win before Madden as caught off the bowling of Charlie Cunial (1/23).
It was the last breakthrough the home side were able to make with Leach (27*) and Jimmy Binks (5*) guiding their side to an eight-wicket win.
The win means Leagues will have the chance to defend their two-day title from last season having squeaked into fourth with a round remaining.
Hanwood will be looking to try and finish the season on a high note when they take on Exies.
Leagues will take on Coro before playing in the one-day final against Exies on Sunday.
