Diggers started the season strong but suffered a slump in the middle of the season where the side only won one game in five before having the bye in the last round of one-day matches.
Hanwood is currently sitting one-point outside of the top four with five rounds remaining in the season, and they will be looking to get into the first-grade final for the first time since the 2014/15 season.
In the meetings between the two sides this year Hanwood is holding the advantage at two wins to one.
In the first game of the season, Diggers were able to pick up a bonus point win thanks to a great bowling effort as Craig Lugton (2/24), Jason Hampel (2/9) and Dean Villata (2/13) picking up two wickets each while Valeri (34*) guided their side to a bonus point win.
In their previous timed meeting Hanwood were able to pick up an outright win thanks to Brad Hornery (64) and Jamie Whitworth (61) who helped their side score 211 off 43.3 overs while Dean Catanzariti (4/35), Dean Wynne (3/25) and Charlie Cunial (3/44) did the damage with the ball.
Hanwood then took out the round 11 encounter as Todd Argus helped restrict Diggers picking up four wickets while Hornery (31) and Luke Shannon (38) guiding their side to a bonus point win.
The match between the two sides will get underway at 1pm at Hanwood Oval.
