The early hour didn’t stop one Barellan man from allegedly getting behind the wheel more than four times over the legal limit on Thursday morning.
The 43-year-old man was caught during a roadside breath test in Narrandera.
At around 10.15am police pulled the driver over on Douglas Street.
After coming up positive, he was arrested and taken to Narrandera Police Station for a breath analysis.
The test returned a reading of 0.235, well over four times above the legal limit.
Griffith Police allege the driver made admissions to mixing his own drinks and was unsure how much he had consumed.
His licence was immediately suspended.
