THE MIA has finally made it to New Year’s after an eventful, fun and full on 2017.
As residents plan their night out they can feel relieved to know the weather will be spot on for all of the celebrations today and into the evening.
The start to the New Year’s weekend was a bit sketchy with Leeton receiving 20 millimetres of the wet stuff between Friday and into Saturday morning.
Griffith was also wet with 17.4 millimetres falling.
Saturday’s weather was near perfect with a light breeze keeping temperatures down.
In Leeton the mercury reached 28 degrees and it was the same for Griffith.
The all important New Year’s Eve forecast is looking the goods with not a cloud in the sky in Leeton.
Temperatures are expected to reach 30 degrees on Sunday with a minimum of 16 overnight.

In Griffith it’s looking much the same with 30 degrees also predicted and an overnight temperature of 15.
New Year’s Day in Leeton will be slightly warmer with the first week of 2018 set to heat up.
