A police officer has had a rough day on the job after their highway patrol car collided with a ute outside of Hillston on Tuesday.

Both drivers walked away unscathed from the incident, though the same could not be said for their vehicles which were severely damaged.
The collision between the highway patrol car and the Nissan ute occurred at 11.20 am, 20 kilometres south of Hillston on the Kidman Way.
