They have shown they can stand up when the side needs them to
- Haydn Pascoe
It will be much the same side which saw Griffith able to make the trip back from Leeton with the cup in their possession after a strong innings from Dean Bennett saw him dismissed with a hundred in his sights.
It has been a tale for most of the season for Griffith representative sides with the younger player making an impact after Ryan Greenaway made runs in the first Creet match of the season which captain Haydn Pascoe thinks is a great thing for cricket in the area.
“It’s good to see the talent coming up from the local boys,” he said.
“They have shown they can stand up when the side needs them to.”
Heading into the game against Hay, Pascoe knows they are approaching the unknown.
“They are a bit of an interesting team to come up against,” he said.
"They seem to be able to find a few players who can do some damage.”
After a convincing display with bat and ball against Leeton to take the cup back Pascoe is hopeful the largely unchanged side would be able to do it again this weekend.
“Runs on the board will be key for us, and we have shown against Leeton that we are able to do it posting over 190 in both games,” he said.
“I think we did the basics well against Leeton, there were only a couple of dropped catches so hopefully everyone comes into this game with the same mentality.”
The game will get underway at Exies No 1 at 10.30am on Sunday.
