They will be looking to keep their momentum going when they take on Hanwood at Hanwood Oval on Saturday afternoon.
According to captain Phil Burge, their success has come from contributions from more than just one player.
“We have had some individuals stand up when we needed them,” he said.
“We have been in tough situations, and those guys have been able to stand tall when we needed them most.”
So far this season the main contributors with the bat have been Alistair Burge, with 171 runs, and Jamie Winkler, with 169 runs, who are currently sitting in the top four for runs scored so far this season.
“Jamie performed well at the start of the season, and then Tom Spry and Alistair have been playing some handy innings of late.”
Spry has scored 109 runs in his four appearances this season while Joel Mulder also makes the top 10 with 101 runs in seven games.
The rain around the area of late has caused some issues with Exies as they prepare for this weekend as the wet conditions have meant they haven’t been able to train and aren’t quite sure how they will look come Saturday.
The moisture in the pitch on Saturday could also make the game a bit more unpredictable.
“If Hanwood has a full-strength team it will be a tough task,” he said.
“No games are easy in this competition, and we aren’t sure how the wicket will play given the rain that we have had lately.”
